TechMaine Annual Conference

TechMaine 18th Annual Conference

Thank you to our sponsors and presenters, our conference committee members and volunteers, and everyone else who helped make this year's Technology Conference a success!

Conference attendees: Please remember to complete your conference evaluations. Your feedback is extremely important and valuable in the conference planning process for next year.

The TechMaine Annual Conference is Northern New England's premier networking and educational event. Our annual conference is the largest assembly of technology professionals in Maine, and we explore topics that will impact us in the future, as well as ideas on how to improve our businesses today. TechMaine delivers the companies, people, technology and relationships that you need to stay on the leading edge of the IT industry.

The 2010 Annual Conference will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 7 and 8. There will be a networking dinner for Speakers, Sponsors, Special Guests, and Senior Level Executives from Maine's technology and business community on Tuesday evening, followed by the all-day Conference on Wednesday.

Our Keynote Speaker - Andrew McAfee

Andrew McAfee studies the ways that information technology (IT) affects businesses and business as a whole. His research investigates how IT changes the way companies perform, organize themselves, and compete. At a higher level, his work also investigates how computerization affects competition itself – the struggle among rivals for dominance and survival within an industry. Holding a master's in electrical engineering from MIT and a doctorate in business from Harvard, McAfee brings real-world management perspective backed with academic, actionable research.

He coined the phrase “Enterprise 2.0” in a Sloan Management Review article to describe the use of Web 2.0 tools and approaches by businesses. He also began blogging at that time, both about Enterprise 2.0 and about his other research. McAfee’s blog is widely read, becoming at times one of the 10,000 most popular in the world (according to Technorati). He also maintains a Facebook profile and Twitter account.
