SOI is currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst for our office in Belfast, Maine or our corporate office which is located in Indian Land-Fort Mill, South Carolina which is in close proximity to Charlotte, North Carolina. The QA Analyst should be able to demonstrate significant experience interpreting software requirements, creating detailed test plans and executing test cycles (including smoke testing, regression testing, functional testing, performance testing and load testing). The ideal candidate should have experience in executing quality control tasks within an Agile software framework.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but may not be limited to the following.

Perform all levels of necessary automated and manual testing on new and existing systems and applications.

Create and maintain test plans, cases, and strategies within project scope and release timelines.

Design, document, and implement automated testing scripts, using Open Source technologies. Subsequently support, maintain, and enhance all test case automation related activities during iterative development, system testing, regression testing, and post-production testing.

Manage, execute, and track test activities, and report test results.

Report all issues in defect tracking system, documenting steps of reproducibility, and escalating issues as needed.

Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate for manual and automated testing.

Assist in implementation of quality assurance standards, best practices, and contribute ideas and effort toward continuous improvement.

Assist in application support by working with both the development and support teams to provide test scenarios for any production issues.

Work with user acceptance testing teams to provide turnover of test plans in understandable business terminology.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience including one to two years of software quality assurance experience, proficiency in developing and implementing test plans and test scripts, familiarity with open source QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, and test design and execution is essential.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate an advanced level of internet ability and intermediate to advanced SQL skills. Technical skills to understand software development environments including the following: design and architecture, servers, version control, data modeling, scripting, and test automation tools.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

Have strong organizational skills; ability to multitask; ability to manage time well.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILL LEVEL

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, test scripts, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiar with Agile methodology using an Agile based project management tool (Rally, TargetProcess, etc.).

 

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED

This position will constantly utilize the computer; this position will occasionally utilize a fax machine and the phones. This position will frequently utilize a multi-function printer (scanning, copying, and printing).
